TikTok: How Influencers Can Thrive

June 14, 2021 Marketing

Have you seen those people on TikTok who have millions upon millions of people following them, and want to be just like them? Do you want to know what you can do on TikTok in 2021 in order to have a better chance of becoming an influencer?

TikTok is an incredibly popular social media platform for social media influencers to utilize. While there are many benefits, it can also be difficult to grow an audience on the platform and make a living off of TikTok. This social media platform has only been around for a short while, but has quickly become the most popular social media app with billions of users.

With such impressive numbers, it’s no wonder so many influencers are jumping on the bandwagon to capitalise on what this new platform has to offer. More than this, many services have launched to cater to the need for increasing TikTok followers, such as TokUpgrade for example. Becoming an influencer on TikTok isn’t easy though, but if you want to know how to do this, here are a few tips to follow.

Engage often

When it comes to being successful on TikTok, one of the key factors is receiving engagement. However, as an account with very few followers, receiving engagement can be particularly difficult. If you are looking to be successful on TikTok, you need to take some initiative and encourage engagement by interacting yourself. Not only will this allow other people to become aware of you, but you will become far more recognisable if people repeatedly see your name.

TikTok offers so many ways in which you can engage with your followers and other users. Some of the most popular include direct messaging, sharing and liking other users’ content, commenting on videos, and even following users that you would like to follow you. This will make you far more discoverable, but also make you come across as more approachable.

Create great content

TikTok is all about being genuine, authentic, and in the moment. This means that creating content on the platform is not difficult at all. All you need is a decent camera phone and some good lighting. However, it can be very easy to fall into the traps of following trends and coming across like you are copying someone else’s content.

When creating great content, making use of trends is a great way to get yourself noticed and become part of the community, but you never want to copy a video exactly, rather take inspiration from it. There are so many different trends that one can follow on TikTok, and they are ever changing. If you are looking to follow the trends, you might even have a hard time keeping up.

If you make use of trends, be sure to post them as soon as possible, as you don’t want to be posting content that will end up being irrelevant or old.

Use hashtags and influencers

A tool that everyone knows about and is available on just about every single social media platform, is hashtags. However, despite the fact that everyone knows about them, not too many people actually know how they work or how to use them efficiently and effectively. When it comes to using hashtags, you always want to make sure that you are only using ones that are related to your content. Of these related hashtags you should choose the most popular in order to reach the largest audience possible that would be interested in your content.

If hashtags alone aren’t working for you or helping you grow your account, you should think about maybe collaborating with an influencer. Influencers typically have massive audiences whose minds can easily be swayed. By collaborating with an influencer, you are gaining access to their large audience and giving yourself the opportunity to make them your followers too.

Post within a niche

Last but not least, before you start your journey to success on TikTok, you should discover who your target audience is and what niche they fall part of. TikTok is a massive platform and it would be silly to believe that you could market to everyone who uses it. By selecting a specific niche and creating content catered specifically to a target audience, you give yourself a much better chance of getting noticed and followed. People want to know that your account will be consistent with what they like, and posting within a niche will do just that.
